Russia
Andrei N. Shmakov received his Medical Diploma with Honours from Novosibirsk State Medical Institute (Russia). Upon graduation he started his career in biomedical research and completed PhD at the Novosibirsk Institute of  Clinical Immunology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. He moved to United Kingdom then and worked as a Research Fellow at Babraham Institute, Cambridge, and as a Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Medicine, University of Edinburgh.

Dr Andrei N. Shmakov has published several papers in peer-reviewed international journals, including Nature Medicine. His next endeavours began when he moved to medical business and worked for  several years with Merck (MSD) and Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) in Russia. He is currently a Director at Doctor Lens Consulting Ltd and MedCornea Ltd (Moscow, Russia).
